Lichen III

These little (and I mean, teeny) red 'sprouts' on a mount of moss are lichens known as British Soldiers. I was told that it tends to grow in humid but cold climates like up here in Maine.

So do you grow anything at your house?

Nothing artistic like lichen! But I have tomatoes, and olives, and limes, and lemons and I had two figs on my second season tree - but they fell off. Boo hoo!

We have one plant but it doesn't seem to grow at all.

I grow the house plants that survive my "care." I do pretty well with violets, and I love them. A few others manage to survive, sometimes for a year or more :) But the violets actually like me.

I wonder if some of these can be used for natural dyes... (The red stuff looks more like poison mushroom, though...)
