This Mallard duck was standing on a large stone surface in the Kenduskaeg Stream during low tide. Normally, the water level would be a couple feet higher and gushing from inland to merge with Stillwater River.
Hummm un magret de canard, des rillettes de canard, un saucisson de canard, un confit de canard...OUI j'aime le canard Hummm duck breast, duck rillettes, duck sausage, duck confit ... YES I like duck
Love this shot, Ming! When it's well prepared duck is delish. But I hardly ever eat it because I had pet ducks when I was a kid and, well . . . you know.
What a gorgeous view of the duck and its colorations. No, I do not eat duck at all. PS I enjoy the questions you pose in your posts. Have a great weekend, Ming!
The last duck I had was cooked so poorly it was like cardboard in grease. I think I'll stick to other foods. Anyway, I like watching them too much. I applaud your excellent photo here, with the unusual angle and the exposure "cooked to perfection." The last ducks I tried to photograph were in light that was quite bright, so it was hard to get it right. I got a few good ones :)
aww, cute little ducky... Ming! how could you think of such a thing while looking at this sweet little ducky. I actually have eaten duck once years ago before I became a vegetarian and it was quite delicious.
I used to go to a Chinese New Year banquet at Sai Woo in Toronto every year and always there was duck on the menu.... cooked a variety of ways. Delicious! But I have never cooked duck myself. Or eaten it anywhere else.
This Daily Photo Blog was created to share my love of photography and my experience/life/move to Bangor, and the places I've visited around Maine.
All photos are original properties of Ming the Merciless, which obviously is NOT my real name but you get the gist of it.

Once you get all the fat out, it's great.

Fearless guy, wasn't he?
I'm talking about the duck ... but you get a few points for bravery, too, Ming -:)
I have eaten duck - and it was at the Chinese restaurant where I worked when I was a lot younger. And, it was delicious!
I've tried duck but I felt awful eating that poor little thing.

I don't like to eat things that are nice to look at. Mallards are just too pretty!
Now Pork!! There's something that I can sink my teeth into!
