Night Visitor

This little fella landed on top of my head a few minutes ago. I quickly brush it off my hair *aaarrrghhh* and it dropped on to the top of the kitchen counter, a little stunned. Maybe it wants to have its picture taken tonight.

Dried Flower

This is a macro shot of a dried flower that managed to stay on the stem despite heavy snow fall and heavy rain over the winter months. I must have taken over 40 shots before I was satisfied with this one.

Bloom

Can someone please tell me what kind of flower this is? I thought it was camelia but none of the photos I googled for camelia looked like this.

Lichen III

These little (and I mean, teeny) red 'sprouts' on a mount of moss are lichens known as British Soldiers. I was told that it tends to grow in humid but cold climates like up here in Maine.

So do you grow anything at your house?

Lichen II

Lichen growing on the tree truck in Bar Harbor where the air is usually saturated with moisture. I am beginning to notice lichens every where here in Maine.

So have you noticed anything different in your town?

Caterpillar

I almost stepped on this little fellow on my way home yesterday. It is a green caterpillar crawling across the street. I quickly got down on my knees and elbows to photograph it. I took over 20 macro shots, include a couple with it rearing it's head up staring at me but they did not come out well focused. This is the best one of the lot.

So why did the caterpillar cross the road? :-)
