This is a macro shot of a dried flower that managed to stay on the stem despite heavy snow fall and heavy rain over the winter months. I must have taken over 40 shots before I was satisfied with this one.
These little (and I mean, teeny) red 'sprouts' on a mount of moss are lichens known as British Soldiers. I was told that it tends to grow in humid but cold climates like up here in Maine.
It is the first of the month again and the theme for October is CONTRAST. This photo shows the contrast between clear and blurriness, light and shade, etc.
