Wild Flower Everywhere

This lace-like wild flower is everywhere in Maine -- on the side of the interstate highways, on the edge of the parking lots, surrounding abandoned buildings and anywhere that has not been mowed.

Does anyone know what this is?

Update: The wild flower is called Queen Anne's Lace, wild carrot, bird's nest or bishop's lace.

I love the flower, Ming. It's everywhere here too and so pretty. I 'think' it's called Queen Anne's Lace but maybe someone else knows for sure.

If you Google Queen Anne's Lace you'll see what I mean.

j'aime bien cette façon de photographier cette fleur. On dirait un napperon de dentelle

I like this way to photograph this flower. It looks like a lace doily

This is one of the few I know: here it is called carota selvatica (wild carrot).
Great geometric shot.

I believe it is Queen Anne's Lace also.

Hi Ming! How are you enjoying life in Bangor?

Blogtrotter is back to the «urban jungle», which Reykjavik is far from being... ;)). Enjoy and have a fabulous week!

Laceweed! It is a European weed, also called "wild carrot". Grows very fast and is hard to control. Wipes out the native wildflowers.

More about invasive plants such as laceweed that are invading natural areas:

Hey, it's a nice photo though.

We used to have Queen Anne's lace everywhere when I was growing up. I used to pick bunches of it. Such a pretty photo!

Yes, I knew it as "wild carrot", "carotte sauvage" in french, also known as "Daucus carota" if you are a botanist :o)
