Vista of Downtown Bangor

This is the vista of downtown Bangor from the top of the Thomas Hill Standpipe posted last weekend. Since I am fairly new in town, I cannot identify all the buildings yet but hopefully, I will in the near future.

So how long does it usually take for you to make new friends in a new environment?

Hi Ming

I have just found you again. Loving the new blog.

To make friends, a while.

It's a bit smaller than NYC, isn't it? Friends take a while...it's harder now that we're grown-ups and don't have school to throw us together with other people on a daily basis. You could try joining a club or taking a course or volunteering...

What a fantastic view! And so much green, it's wonderful!

Not very long ;)
But deep, lasting friendships — that's another matter altogether.

Very different to the views in NYC! But just as lovely.

What an interesting place to visit... a water tower. I have never been to the top of one, never even thought about it! But you have certainly captured some good views from the top.
And as for making friends... I need to make some new friends, but it's hard now that I am on my own again.

The picture does give you a sense of place - even though Bangor is a busy little city, it is surrounded by the vastness of Maine's forests. Every time I've driven through the state I think it should change the official slogan. What does it say on the license plates - Vacationland? I think it should be Excess of Trees.

Like the looks of Downtown Bangor - I gotta get there one day...

Usually I make friends fairly fast - mainly because I look for quilt and knitting guilds...
