Bagel Central on Main Street

Bagel Central is the place where I go to get my bagel with cream cheese (and sometimes, with smoked salmon and red onions) most mornings. My favorites are the NY-style chewy bagels, which are called water bagels here in Maine.

So what do you usually eat for breakfast?

I like to peeling or unfinished VIVID PINK paint on the building. For breakfast I have dark roast coffee with half and half and maybe eggs and toast or oatmeal. Generally always one banana too.

So you did find a place to get bagels -kind of like in NYC? Looks like you are establishing some patterns. Yeah!

Not many bagels around here! We have homemade biscuits, scrambled eggs, bacon and grits.

Sometimes I have a toasted bagel, but recently I've been on a buttered cinnamon raisin toast kick!

Hey, Ming - lovely to catch up with you in your new home. I hope you are having fun discovering it. Batten down the hatches for those Maine winters ahead!!

All the best from me at Sydney Daily Photo. I’m so busy with a new job I hardly have time to post, much less comment these days!

Breakfast: my favourites are either sliced banana, grapes and mango with a fruit yoghurt, or at the moment, wholegrain bread, toasted, with ricotta cheese, a sprinkling of psyllium husk, then sliced tomato and some Moroccan spice.

I remember this place from our one visit to Bangor. The old downtown area has a strong identity.

Before we met, I had one travel post about Bangor on St. Louis Daily Photo. Just do a search for "Bangor."

Enjoy the beautiful Maine summer. It ain't gonna last forever.

By the way, I usually eat granola and banana at my desk in the morning.

Ming!!! Great to have your visit on RuT. Naturally, what do I find? 2 out of 4 snaps are of FOOD OULETS. You are of course well placed to document these now that you live in Maine! You won't be missing NYC.....at least, not food-wise.

Hi Ming...I love your new surroundings...your photos have that good old fashioned hometown feel. Breakfast? Sometimes a bagel...prepared face down in hot buttered pan for a few moments until brown...serve with eggs and coffee.....Yum.... Dee Dee

In France, we are not very used to eat salted things for breakfast... but we don't eat croissants au beurre every morning either! I drink tea with milk and eat bread and butter.
Happy to see you already have habits in your new place!

Good to see you've found a favourite already! My breakfast lately has been a concoction of gluten free cereal flakes mixed with dessicated coconut, almond flakes, sunflower and pumpkin seeds, a banana and rice milk. Mmmmmmmmm ;oD

Lately we eat nutty breads I bake. Because we never pay much attention to the nutritional value of our weekday breakfasts, I started putting in peanuts and almonds in the bread so we don't have to think and put peanut butter, etc., on our toasts. Works well for lazy people like us.

Bagels are good. Ice cream at a pharmacy is my drug of choice!

Gotta say, I love a good bagel with coffee, myself. But, I also like yogurt, toast w/cheese and coffee. There you have it, Ming! Hope you are settling in well in your new home!!
