The Stephen King House

This is the house where Stephen King lives. He is the beloved hometown hero and local celebrity who, along with his wife, have generously supported various causes and events in the township. I was told that Mr. King is a very low key guy and does not like being asked for autographs.

Although the house looks fairly modest from this angle, the property actually extends almost an entire block to the back and includes the adjacent (and more spectacular) house on the right -- not shown in this photo.

So have you ever read a Stephen King book or seen his movies?

What a great house! I love the gates and the fence.
The movie "The Dead Zone" (from Stephen King's book) was filmed partly here in my small Ontario town.... lots of my son's friends were in it as extras. And yes, I've read lots of Mr King's books.

Great house. Have not read his books, but totally aware of his popularity.
Love to see the adjoining house.

So why am I not surprised that he owns a Victorian-style house? And that spider web gate is so cool!

Yes to both, but more short stories than either novels or movies. Lovely shivers!

Hi Ming - your Bangor sure looks very different from either Bangor in Wales or Bangor in Ireland.

Good to see you continuing blogging.

Hilda -- good eye! The gates does have a spider web design and bats too.

I will take a photo of it.

Very nice house. If you meet him don't ask for his autograph!

Gorgeous place... would love to see the interior. I read many of King's works as they were coming out in the 70's and 80's, always a good read. I share a name with one of his sons, and in IT, there is an Owen Phillips who makes a cameo appearance. Will be curious to see where Bangor Daily Photo goes, now that NYDP is closed... that lobster roll looks darn good. Perhaps you have read "Consider the Lobster" by David Foster Wallace ?

This house looks like what I pictured Stephen King would live in. It is really beautiful and I bet it is haunted!
And yes, we have read his books and seen some of the movies. My favorite is "Storm of the Century," "Misery" was quite heart-thumping too! The twist at the end of "Secret Window, Secret Garden" was well thought out.

I like his themes of good vs. evil, and he certainly has the shallowness of human nature and the character of The Devil down perfectly! But Mr. King, if you read this, please try to tone down the language! ):

What a beautiful house! Love this architecture. Yes I read many Stephen King books and saw many movies. I saw many times these: Stand By Me, Carrie, Misery ( with Kate Bates and James Caan), The Shining( with the great Jack Nicholson)and many others...

Answering your question: Me and Carlos did not went on any of the rides, because we think it's not safe...I think there are not a good maintenance.

I'm not a horror/thriller fan, so haven't read any of his books, and didn't think I'd seen any of his movies either until reading Monika N's comment - Shawshank Redemption is a wonderful film - and Sonia's comment re Stand By Me. I need to pay more attention to movies!!

Perhaps you'll be on his Halloween guest list?

By coincidence, Sunday night's The Family Guy was the Stephen King episode. And usually we don't watch that show, but we did this week!
