Flower Bug & Aphids

Last weekend I went to the Norumbega Parkway, a small parcel of garden space by Kenduskeag Stream in downtown Bangor to photograph the flowers and plants there. To my amazement, I found lots of insects and bugs in and around the plants.

In this macro shot of a flower bud, you can see two little green aphids inside it. I didn't notice the aphids until I downloaded the photo on to my laptop. If I had known they were there, I would have taken more photos and angled my camera to focus on the aphids a little more.

So have you ever taken a photo and realized the unknown details later when you saw them on your computer?

Bugs in buds bug me.

But I find these bugs and buds fascinating.

Great details and colors (mostly shades of green), wonderful image with... ugly bugs.
Yes, I find unespected details in photos, sometimes better than the original subject.

Lovely shot and yes I see the aphids. You are so right, often when I upload photos I see something I'd not seen when I took the photos and not always a macro either.

A brilliant shade of green too... perfect camouflage!

Isn't it amazing what we see "after" we take a shot?

Hi Ming...Re: your comment on Horse Farm:

I would imagine that the difference between NYC and Maine would be a world of difference between Ft. Lauderdale and Ocala...

Beautiful color! Now you need to find ladybirds to eat these aphids!

Great vibrant green (both bud and bugs!)

It happens to me all the time, especially with macro shots, but that is the joy of photography :)
