These seaweed looking plants are lichens, a form of symbiotic organism that grows on tree trunks. The photo was taken at the Orono Bog Boardwalk where they can be seen everywhere.

By the way, during your planned visit to Delhi you will have plenty of things to do for three days. Your hotel can arrange an English-speaking driver-guide. I wouldn't dare drive here myself.

I am a lichen addict, Ming. These are more leafy than I am used to though. Same shapes I guess: just mucho big.
