Smoked Salmon On A Stick

There are more photos from my archives because I have not been able to go out to take new photos. This was from The American Folk Festival a couple weeks ago. The vendor sold a thick slab of smoked salmon on a stick.

So have you ever had smoked salmon on a stick?

Nope. There's lots of salmon in Seattle where I go often, but none is served, as far as I know, on a stick.

I've never ever heard of it. Sounds much better than a corn dog.

sorry, but yuck. Love the festive stand, though. And I do love smoked salmon on a bagel with cream cheese.

Not on a stick, but my great-uncle used to smoke thick chunks of salmon that he had caught himself. I so miss it. The stuff you can buy in the stores just isn't the same.

I guess I'll have to visit Maine some day.

That would be a salmonsicle? Never had one, but it sounds fabulous. Besides, everything's fun to eat when you put it on a stick! (Good way to get kids to eat their veggies.)

I used to eat this in Eugene, OR a lot... there was a fish place on w. 11th which served it the same way - common in the PNW - i miss it - saw this while trying my hand at smoked catfish now that I am in the south:)
