The building with all the festive lights is Muddy Rudder, a restaurant and bar located in Brewer, across the Penobscot River from Bangor. It is a popular spot for locals to hang out and grab a beer or dine in style.
So do you have a favorite local hangout?

I've been to the Muddy Rudder in Wiscasset. It was a nice place to grab a meal.
That's so lovely!! I really love that you took it when it was not quite dark outside.
belle photo de nuit,ta photo semble très calme, très zen.
nice night photograph, your photograph seems very calm, very zen.
Love the name, as well as the view of this hang-out.
I like both the name of the restaurant and the name of the river. The restaurant is very large.
Looks like a nice place to have a drink and a bite.
Nice shot, Ming—love the beautiful blue hues. The fave local hangout in my Brooklyn neighborhood is not nearly as posh as this place seems to be, but it's cozy and welcoming, and a great place to hang out with friends.
Love the photo from across the river. Name of restaurant so right on. This would be my kind of place. So you need a new experience. Get some friends from the U and head over to the bar (non alcohol drink) and snacks so you can check out the interior.
Hoist one for me too.

I can see why its popular. looks very inviting.
My favourite is the pub about 10 mins walk away!
Hello Ming,
Bangor looks like a very little cool and quite "home sweet home" for you compared to NYC...
Hope you enjoy.
Thanks for your blog, happy to discover this area with you.
Well, every saturday, I meet many friends and family in a little "café" and it's always a pleasure to be there...
at home, in front of the TV, watching the Food Channel. hehe...
Ming,
Looks like you are sliding into Bangor life and enjoying it a lot. I"m sure it's a big change from the Big Apple but change is good, right? Great photo today.
