I saw this farm sprinkled with bales of hay in northern Bangor off of Union Street. I love that there is an old farm machine at the bottom right of the photo, which give the photo a bit of story. I assumed it is for cutting the grass and rolling hay.So have you ever chewed on a piece of hay like in the country/western movies?

These round bales are hay (and this photo is beautiful, btw), but when I worked at Country Living magazine we showed square bales of that we called hay and many readers told us were straw. My question to the readers: "So, when I say I'm going for a hay ride, I'm actually going for a straw ride?" Answer: Yes!
In answer to your question: No! And I probably never will (oh well). On the other hand, I can SO see you with a piece of straw in your teeth!

All the fields naow are filled with the big round bales rather than the rectangular ones.
Foe Alexa's information, Hay is dried grass and alfalfa and used for animal feed during the winter, straw is the stalks of harvested grain, and is normally used for animal bedding.
Hay is green, straw is golden.

Here they wrap the bales in black plastic so the fields look like aliens have laid eggs all over the fields!
The round bales are identical to the ones I see in our countryside. There was probably some hay chewing moment in my past...

I have never eaten hay but I have always loved passing by pretty fields like this with bales of hay in them. So picturesque Ming.
