Chalk Artist Jill Gardner

I was at Giacomo's this weekend for my regular Saturday morning coffee when I saw artist Jill Gardner working on a new menu sign for the cafe. She graciously let me photograph her while she drew and chatted about her work.

on se retrouve dans une autre époque avec ce menu fait a la main sur une ardoise, c'est très parisien comme présentation.

I never realized they used chalk that looks like colored pencils like that. There really is an art to writing on those boards; it's harder than it looks.
