This photo was taken at the Brewer Winter Fest last weekend. The gentleman in the photo used a propane torch to melt the surface of the ice block so it looks smooth and clear.

Very nifty! I'd imagine that blowtorching a block of ice requires a very delicate touch! One slip and he'd have to start over with a new block!!
so where is the tea that goes with the big ice cube?
Did you sample all the offerings? :)
Very cool! Have only seen this done on a cruise ship with an ice carving demo.....
